Great news! I got in to grad school today. Next semester, I’ll be attending the University of Iowa. My acceptance still needs to be finalized. For instance, I have no idea how much money I’ll owe or when it’s due. It will suck because I have to pay for all of it up front before I get reimbursed, which is a hefty sum that will be going against my balance every six months. Also I have to figure out if I’ll be doing research on a particular topic. I am still completely torn on this decision. I can’t really figure out what field I want to become an expert in. A computer and biology hybrid still seems really interesting, but of course so does distributed computing which I bet will have bigger growth over the next few years. I’d really love to become so proficient on a topic that I’d get to travel the country giving lectures, or even doing consulting work on it. It’s a weird feeling to have this great big field of possibilities open to me. Anyway, now that I am soon to be a Hawkeye all I gotta say is screw you BJ, Skinner, and Greg! Stupid Cyclones.
