I don’t think its possible to have a better weekend than I just had. In fact mine was so good it took three days instead of the normal two. Friday, after spending a mildly boring day at work my Rockwell roomie and I drove to the Haute. It’s odd how much you look forward to go back to college when you don’t have to worry about that class thing. I was literally jittering with anticipation the entire day until I got there. The second I arrive in Terre Haute I was invited to Shiery’s place to pound back a few beers and hang out. It was such an amazing feeling getting to see all my brothers and just hang out.
Several Shots later we decided to have a mass exodus to the House because apparently those entire silly newbies were getting trashed. It was a whirlwind of excitement. There is nothing like walking in a room, knowing everyone, and seeing their happy faces. I’ll spare you the details of the mayhem that ensued upon my arrival because many of you were there and if you weren’t you probably smart enough to figure it out.
After passing out at some unknown time I woke up the next day to a wonderful breakfast of cheap Chinese food, after which I retired to the couch for a long session of movies and television. Vince and I watched Scrubs, Simpsons, Family Guy Movie, and Harold and Kumar, possibly the best way to waste an afternoon. That night I wanted to take my little brothers for dinner but it quickly went from the three of us to eleven people. We got to chill, talk, and listen to some live music it was great.
That night was FOAM. If you missed foam and have never been I beg of you ask me to come with otherwise you are missing out on a truly spectacular party. I have no idea how long I danced for but I could barely walk the next day. Also my voice was destroyed for shouting American Pie and enjoying the lovely beer shower. Oh any my eyes were on fire from being completely immersed in foam. Who wouldn’t want to come to that? I suppose all you kids who go to those regular big ol colleges have good parties, but you guys got nothing on our 800 person parties in our pimp ass multi floor party building. No idea when I passed out this night either.
I do know I woke up at 1 pm the next day. Where I saw the “40 Year Old Virgin”. Movie was hilarious though it was a horrifying glimpse in to the future. Way way way way way way way way too many people in Pike said they thought of me while watching that movie. I’m not sure if I should be weirded out or scared. After grilling some TBones I ran around the house hanging out with all my bros and having some genuinely good conversations with everyone. A few weeks ago someone pointed out to me that these guys weren’t my real brothers. I would like to say one thing, that is so bullshit, and people who say this are just ignorant. I know these guys and get a long with most of them better than most people’s own relatives.
After killing some time I ended up watching the Notebook in the back lounge with about five girls and ten guys. How the hell we had such a turn out I have no idea why. This will be the only time I ever say this, the Notebook is a good movie. That’s it lets never speak of this again. That night we had the first official Beer O’clock! Massive showing 20+ people. Beer O’clock is my fav thing at Pike after both of my little brothers. Who after this weekend I decided were even more awesome than I already thought.
Phew we are up to Monday now. Monday my second ever paid holiday, unfortunately not the case for Rose-Hulman. Everyone had class which was mildly funny; I’ve never heard so much bitching. I talked to Prof Kukral about my Italy Trip and found out he won’t be teaching at Rose for the rest of this year. This made me sad because he was one of my favorite Profs. Afterwards I had lunch at the dreaded ARA, and gorged myself like no other. It was so good. After a brisque walk back and a lazy afternoon. I went to the bars with my Brothers for a little pre chapter celebration. Cheep beer and pizza is the perfect combination. Chapter was long and hilarious as usual. Afterwards I watched my roomie and Kidwell blow lots of fire. Dangerous yet cool. Finished up with the last Beer Oclock until homecoming. Damn dry rush. This concludes the wicked cool weekend. Now I’m in Cedar rapids and I’m exhausted. So I hope all of you had a great weekend, and if you are in MN this weekend look me up I’ll be in town. ~Later
