I find myself with a bit of free time now that I have my design document done (cross your figures) for my project. Currently I’m waiting for a preliminary review, so I can have my official review. Haha, isn’t project development fun. So in order to keep myself occupied I’ve been reading random people’s Xangas. Well they aren’t entirely random Most of these people I know through other people, attend rose, or are from my old high school. After reading several different people’s Xangas I became annoyed about a few things:
*Rant*
1. What the hell is with people listing Jesus, aka Jesus Christ, aka Jesus my Homeboy, as an interest. I mean I know he’s a cool guy. He definitely loved to party. Personally I’ve always wanted to be able to transform water in to wine. But people seriously he’s not a hobby. The worst part is they put him next to other common interests such as biking and partying. “I love to ride my bike, and go party with my friends, oh and I totally love going out and doing Jesus.
2. 90% of people on Xanga have no idea how to choose good colors. Some people choose a color scheme that is completely unreadable. “Hey I know lets use grey letters on a black background that will be so easy to read” Or even better when people put those horrible pictures as a moveable background so there’s nothing you can do to get away from it. I know I’m guilty of this on occasion, but I always try to remedy it as soon as I realize there is a problem. Black text on white pages works amazingly well for books, so in theory this may work for Blogs too. Please people when choosing colors make sure things are readable, especially for our color blind friends.
3. Song quotes. I’m sorry people I know they mean a lot to you and probably have some sort of symbolism. But I guarantee people are way more interested in what you’re doing, then the exact wording of some obscure song they haven’t heard in five years. If there is some deeper meaning for the love of god point it out. I’m a guy therefore I am completely incapable of interpreting a deeper meaning no matter how obvious it may seem.
*End Rant*
