I now realize what it means to have children with the zoomies. I had a dog once who had similar behavior, but recently around 6:30pm Teddy will start doing laps in the kitchen living room. Yelling some form of jibberish on repeat. I think I watched him do this about 25x at full toddler speed once. When he was done, he was legit out of breath panting, on the plus side perfect timing to watch Bluey.
Not to be out done Ella though lacking in teddy’s speed is still cruising pretty gosh darn fast for a baby. Her crawling skills have evolved from Army crawl to full belly-up hip shuffle crawl. Sometimes I leave the door open in the mancave, and Teddy will escape, and by the time I get him, Ella will have escaped, and thus repeat. Rangling my children is like wrangling wild squirrels who are easily distracted by Elmo.
Ella is soo close to walking which is pretty darn impressive for a 10-month-old. I think it’s probably tied to watching her brother so intensely and trying to catch up. Yesterday she even let go of the edge she was holding and held herself up for a split second. Teddy didn’t quite have this model so was walking around 15m, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Ella could walk before her first birthday. Speaking of which that is coming up so fast, its been a somehow fast but slow year. All of y’all are growing up so fast. Thank god you’re both incredibly cute. Teddy one time told he liked Spiderman, and I legit teared up and said, “I like Spiderman too”… Look man, its like hey you know this 50% clone of you, he’s also in to the same stuff! Maybe you guys will be buddies!
Work has been crazy. I came back from Paternity leave and after 2-3 days of boredom, I got put on an intense three-part project where I was managing multiple people. If anyone is curious its about figuring how to “Pin” the copilot app for Harmony / Outlook / Teams. There’s some weirdness around how it all works now and we are trying to create a common path. I’m not sure if this is some sort of trial by fire from leadership or it’s all just a weird coincidence. Either way I kind of love the intensity, but man could I use a down day or two.
