So I just got back from a long visit to MN (5 days) and when I got home you weren’t quite aware I was there. You were more distracted by your mom feeding you. But once I picked you up and held you on my lap you looked at me I let out the highest pitch happy scream we’ve ever heard. Like it surprised both of us with its intensity. So basically, seeing me for the first time in five days made you the happiest you have ever been in your three months of existence!
I got to see some of my HS friends as well as my dad when I was in MN. It’s hard seeing him, he still knows who I am thankfully, but he’s definitely in mental decline. He forgot things you wouldn’t expect like that I live in Seattle or that I work at Microsoft. I had to remind him after couple minutes that there was a Teddy and that he was his Grandson. Its makes conversations easy since you can basically talk about the same couple of points indefinitely. He did love the photo album I made for him of you. He was shocked to discover it every couple minutes, but loved all the pictures each time he looked through them. I’m scared when I get to my dad’s age I’ll have memory issues too, since my grandpa also had them. I will hopefully do my best to make it 1000x easier for you to visit me. Though I know how much you’ll probably have going on in your life. My dad was always a tough person for me to be around but I’m thankful he’s gone kinder and loving as he’s aged. My biggest regret is I can only realistically visit him 1-2x a year, and when you’re almost 80 years old there’s not that many visits left.
