So lets see moved to Seattle in October and holy shit how different my world is right now! Working at Microsoft has been great! Its started pretty slow but its starting to gain speed. There is soo much to learn and I feel like I’m crawling through mud, but everyday I understand a little bit more, and I get what my job is just a bit better. I feel like I may be going slightly slower than my boss would like, but today I instilled my self a greater sense of urgency and really started getting things to come together. Beyond the hard work, the job itself is really fun. MSFT is way more laid back that Rockwell ever was. Today they had an open bar party and I had several beers before I went back to my code debugging.
Oh you maybe wondering what do I do at my job? Well Right now I’m testing the effectiveness of the office partial build tool. Its hard to explain, but basically I’m trying to duct tape a faster way of taking the entire MS office project and building it in to a deliverable software. It feels like there is a million cogs, but its fun 🙂
On to more social settings. I moved to Seattle! I live in Capital Hill which is one of the more hip trendy places. My very chic apartment is right next to the Frye Art Museum. I have the most amazing roommate Mandi. It is way more fun living with a girl than with guy. Everything is so much more nicely decorated lol
Even more fun news I met a girl. She is awesome! She’s cute funny and we have a great “how we met story”. I know I try to avoid talking about… you know girls I’m dating on my blog, but I just wanted to state for the record, she’s probably my favorite part of Seattle 🙂 PS it seriously took 2 weeks of living in Seattle to meet an awesome girl… fuck you Iowa.
