W00t made it to Germany! The flight wasn’t all that bad pretty quick though overnight. Food was absolutely terrible, but then again I think my memory to Italy was guilded because they offered free booze and that seemed super novel. Anyway got in to Germany, customs seriously took 30 seconds and away we were in a taxi in under 30 minutes.
Got to the apartment which was absolutely fabulous. Bedding is a bit weak and I’m sleeping in a loft but beyond that its super nice. Really art decho lots of space and amazingly well located. We spent the afternoon wonder the city. Had my first beer in the English Garden which may have been the best wheat beer I’ve ever had. It of course went through my like waterfall and we had to have an emergency coffee so I could go to the bathroom. Munich is such a wonderful modern city. It puts me off guard because I’m used to a much simpler developing country.
Today we woke up and head to this big Clock in Munich’s main square. Pat was super excited to see the dancing 1800’s robots. When we were there the tour guide shouted it was the 2nd most overrated tourist location in Europe. After watching it I couldn’t help but agree. Pat “faked” love it more out of pride so we humored him. Afterwards we went to the Munich ‘Residence’. It is basically the royal palace of Munich and it was very fancy. But seriously all of these palaces are always super fancy and a bit unmemorable. Though I will admit recently reading Catherine the Great has had a bit of influence in improving my prospective. After the Residence we hit up the Munich Museum of Modern Art and saw some fairly interesting pieces. A lot of furniture and Jewelry and a few classic painting. The Picasso’s cost extra so nuts to that 😛 Anyway time for dinner eating at a place called Der Pschorr. It looks awesomely tastey so I am excited!
