Arrived in Porte Viejo no problem. Probably the easiest travel day yet. Saw some monkeys on the way in which was very cool. First night in went to a tex mex bar and got some delicious cubre libre (rum and coke) Kept making me think of that one episode of Big Bang Theory. Then we hit up a very good caribbean restaurant owned by the form mayor it was delicious, though apparently the one owned by his grandma is way better, the more you know.
Next day everyone headed off to a national park, but my stomach decided it finally reached its breaking point, and I had to stay back sick. Not bad considering I’ve been sick the whole trip. Everyone left so I took a very nice relaxing day. Hung out at the beach, played on my phone a bit, took advantage of its Kindle Feature. I even got to spend some time with a local yoga teacher. A very sweet lady from Canada. We did astanga(sp?) yoga. I really do miss my Hot Yoga from back home.
After this we all just chilled back at the hotel. I ordered a very icky pizza and we played cards all night. This trip has definitely been much tamer than the last one. Which I’m pretty convinced was full of alcoholics, myself included. Every loved the bastardized version of Gin Rummy I taught.
Next day we hit up the beach and did some surf lessons. Too fun! I really want to learn to surf for real now. I’ve already started looking at Jaco Yoga Surf Packages. Though I’ve sort of decided next year to go to Argentina for my MBA. Lets see nothing else spectacularly interesting happened. It rained on and off the whole time we were here. Also our hotel will nice Perla Negre, the walls had mice in them. Totally freaked me out and made it almost impossible to sleep. I even woke up screaming one night Eesh. Fortunately next stop is Jaco where we are staying at Doceluna, which is pricey but supposedly pretty amazing.
