OK I’ve been in the states for about a week now but I haven’t quite finished my Thailand post so here goes. Last time I left my attentive audience I was on my way to Koh Samed. We arrived at the island after about an 8 hour journey from Kachanburi, with a very long transfer in Bangkok, we made it to the island. The ferry ride in at sunset was absolutely gorgeous. Our hotel, Lima Roco, was gorgeous though the rooms weren’t quite as luxurious as I had hoped, plus whenever we flushed the toilet I definitely smelt some poo. Other than that the ability to walk to an isolated white sand beach 50 feet from your room is just great. Plus the food at the hotel was wonderful to eat. Green Curry and Spaghetti was awesome. Anywho, the island was fairly uneventful which was completely how it should have been.
After a few days of relaxation, Schroeder and I made it back to Bangkok. We ended up eating in the tallest tower in Thailand. For like $15 I had the best buffet of my life. They literally had anything you would want. They would grill salmon steaks for you on demand. Plus the view was to die for. Anyone who goes to Thailand should eat at the Baiyon(sp?) buffet. The next day I shopped till I dropped, literally, I had to have a taxi take me home because I was so exhausted. The shopping in Thailand is AMAZING. That night we met up with our buddy Dee, and his friends, and went to a local Thai BBQ. There we decided to play the game drink the beer. Between the six of us we downed ten liters of beer. Quite an accomplishment. The ride back home was a bit hazy and I definitely made an international drunk dial to my Beth on my cell eep! God only knows how much that will cost. Anyway with three hours of sleep I hopped on a plane for 24+ hours to reach my destination of NYC. I saw the sun rise and set twice on my journey back home how depressing is that?
