I leave in less than two weeks and the stress is starting to cover me in waves. Packing is hard. What to bring is easy, what to leave behind is much more difficult. I’m glad I intentionally didn’t buy the biggest backpack possible because it limits my weight. I’m still nervous in the sense as to where am I staying, how’s the food, am I going to be sick the whole time? I picked up some random currency at Wells Fargo today. I feel so worldly cause I have 4 different countries currency in my wallet. I am also getting an unhealthy level of enjoyments from asking people if they want to know what half a million Vietnamese Dong looks like. I sure hope Australians use Dong as a euphemism for penis too.
My girlfriend is awesome. She bought me a growler of one of my favorite beers. She’s so excited that I’m Jewish, that she’s celebrating Hanukkah for me. I feel guilty for not owning a menorah, or for that matter, any Adam Sadler CDs.
I heard a great quote today on the economist its paraphrased cause I’m too lazy to relisten to it but it basically said… “Romney’s opinions on gay rights and abortion have evolved; they have evolved in a direction that is strikingly convenient, perhaps via intelligent design.” I think that’s where my secular elitist sense of humor kicks in.
Comments:
You’re going on a trip and haven’t planned everything to the dime? This is a new development for you. And I don’t think Beth will be so excited after getting eight pairs of socks.
