Bush says democrats are not doing their jobs because they aren’t passing legislation for his approval. Bush’s top priority is to protect Americans, hence he wants over 550 billion dollars for defense and military (which does keep me employed). Except I guess protecting sick kids is too much help, so he keeps on vetoing insurance for kids whose parents make too much for Medicaid but can’t afford those pesky private insurance costs, cause medicine aint cheap. Of course any pork spending from the senate (democrats and republicans) are still ok, as long as it doesn’t lead to socialized medicine. I’m fiscally conservative myself, but if we are going to spend our money like Paris Hilton at Sluts R Us, we should at least prioritize it better, and I think sick babies are a good place to start.
Last weekend was Beth’s sister’s wedding. It was quite wonderful. We stayed at the Palmer House. Rooms were way too small for the cost, but I guess that’s what happens when your hotel is circa late 1800’s. I seriously felt like I was in the movie 1408 while we were walking around. The food at the reception was amazing, I’ve never had better wedding food, and this includes my attendance at the fabulous Winona country club and the Ritz Carlton in DC. The music and the dancing were great, though I probably stepped on Beth’s toes more than once. Also I had to spend the whole night defending Beth from an aging apparently heavy drug using news anchor from the east coast. I have never in my life been mocked so excessively for not taking drugs. It took a lot of will power not to laugh.
Tomorrow, Chris, Chelsea, Beth and I are attending the Rocky Horror Picture show / play. I have no idea how it’ll go down, but I’ll be dressed in my sweet monk costume, so it’ll be gravy. Quick note Saturday, we partied a bit and then finished the night by going to Third Base, where to my shock a fire started and the entire place got filled with smoke. The fire dept even came. How hilarious is a restaurant fire that you didn’t start, to end a night of drunken merriment.
Comments:
Oohhhh, “Third Base” is a restaurant. That makes the paragraph read very differently.

I concur, I think I shall leave it as is though…

I concur – if we are going to spend money, why not spend it on sick babies. As much as I want you to stay employed, imagine if all that money spent on defense was spent differently? How much true innovation could occur.
