I can’t focus at work today, someone I’ve know since I was 10 wasanonymously brutally murdered, and I can’t stop thinking about mine and everyone else I knows mortality. She was such a good person in spirit, intellect, and personality. She loved God and everyone keeps saying have faith in God. I feel like I am the only one who keeps thinking how could God choose to allow one of his star pupils to be taken away so senselessly. Of course I am a religious cynic so these thoughts happen often, just never so close to home.
Comments:
Wow, I’m sorry to hear about that. I hope that they bring the killer to justice. I also hope that, in time, the pain for you and her family subsides.

not to deaden the fact that it sucks to know someone who was recently taken from us – but the whole god thing can makes sense if you consider that every person here is living a path to embrace the love of God and return it kindly (note: IANAC [Christian]).
if you’re looking for a classic old-school example of how what we perceive as bad may bring the best of character in men, read the story of Job…if you can understand how Job’s trials and God’s actions in the story allow for man to embrace a God who puts him through troubling situations, you can understand how believers can believe in any gods at all after witnessing the murders, rapes, and other wrongful deeds that happen so frequently here. i suggest finding a good person to talk it over with. at least i know you’ll find some joy in discussing it with people – as you always did…
it’s sad…i actually miss discussing the bible with my jesus-freak friends at high school…best of luck halfcent.
