1. What do you think defines a successful career?
This is actually a really tough question for me. I’ve often pondered, yes pondered, what I would have to do in life to be successful. The only conclusion I can be absolute on is for me success equal happiness. So if I’m not happy then I’m not successful no matter where I’m at in life. So when this pertains to work I know what makes me unhappy: tedious work, work that isn’t meaningful, standing all the time, monotonous work, bad managers, no control over my career, and lack of money. I’m sure there’s more, but those are immediately what come to mind. So based on the above dislikes, my future job must not have any of the above. So first off I want to be a leader, if I spent my entire career always taking orders, I’d probably be pretty miserable. Part of being a leader would give me the opportunity to explore new paths which would help me find meaningful work, and I’m guessing since I’d be in charge I could hand off the monotonous work. So basically if I want to be happy with my career I need to own myself, and have the power to direct where I go. Also if I had enough money to hire a buxom Swedish secretary, that’d be pretty sweet too.
2. If you could be a character from any movie, who would you be? What would you have done differently in that story?
Apparently you didn’t see me junior year cause you should totally know this answer. If I could be anyone I’d be Tyler Durden, yes that’s right folks I want to be someone’s really cool imaginary friend. Tyler pretty much encompasses all who I want to be. He’s built, confident, crazy, a snappy dresser, and the leader of what amounts to a really sweet cult. The only thing that I would do different if I were him, would be to find someone way hotter than Marla to have sex with, I mean com’on he prolly got an STD, not like it matters when you are an imaginary friend, but still.
3. Would you rather be able to travel through time or travel through space? Explain.
If I had unlimited use of the traveling through time, I would do that. First off, I feel I could get the best of both worlds if I traveled far enough to the future, but besides that fact, I could make myself insanely rich, have the ability to never fuck up a conversation by saying something stupid, I’d be unbeatable at poker, plus I could watch an entire season of lost in a row and then totally ruin the ending for Brent, more importantly I could do anything and if I didn’t like the consequences I could rewind. Goodbye drunk dialing.
4. What is your favorite memory with each person on an individual basis: Schroeder? DeLucenay? Vince? Mills?
Who the hell are all those people??? Haha J/K, It’s hard to nail a specific memory for many of these people, because well some of the best moments are the forgotten ones…
Schroeder: I’d love to say my 21st but I have no recollection of the best parts, so I’ll have to talk about something else. Schroeder was never really about spontaneous crazy fun, I mean we used to party and have really good times, but nothing strikes me as completely memorable and spectacular. When I think of Schroeder I always think about how he is my most reliable and trusting friend. If Schroeder says he’ll do something he won’t let you down, this is a rare quality I feel for most people. Most because I feel like I’ll always be let down by the people in my life, with Schroeder there hasn’t ever been a let down, he’s one of the few people I can blindly trust. I suppose my best actual memory of Schroeder was being his third leg as we walked to campus sophomore year for homecoming, the entire time we were trying to think of songs to badly sing.
Delucenay: This is the easiest favorite because I still talk about it, and I actually have pictures of it. My freshman year Christmas party was probably the best. It’s the first time I ever felt like a Pike and I wasn’t even an associate yet. We started off playing poker, but it soon degraded to drunken singing, and a Kroeger run. It ended with me sleeping in the hallway and getting woken up by Chris at 7 am, cause it was time to go to MN. Perhaps if I ever find a scanner I’ll post the pictures. Then you’ll see why this night was so awesome.
Vince: I wasn’t too involved with this memory, but my favorite one to remind Vince of. “Hit me in the face” How can that get any better. Just imagine Vince sloshed, because he was drinking to electoral votes, and that fact that his brain was filled with Fight Club footage. So the entire night Vince was wandering around the house asking people to punch him in the face. At the end of the night Vince got the bright idea to fist fight my other roommate. The night was full of some pent up aggression begging to be let out. This was my second best memory
Mills: Ditch, Spring 05. Is it sad all my best memories with everyone involve alcohol in some way? At least only two of these memories involved me drinking, so I’m like 50% woo. Walking back with you and Vegas while gradually getting drunk in celebration of my new job was fun. The fact that you guys carried me the last 2 miles over your shoulders was cool. Taking shots in new res was sweet. Singing American Pie, well that was fun for me, prolly not for you guys. Watching me as I dry humped my poor lil brother prolly was quite funny though. Finally, being there when you met your future girlfriend, priceless. This was a close second.
5. Did you get any new seasons of Scrubs on DVD yet? Are you bringing them with you to Terre Haute for Labor Day or Homecoming? There is a wrong answer
Fuck that, scrubs sucks. Maybe if you provide a blowjob I’ll bring it for Labor Day, my boss said I could have Friday off so we’ll have 4 days to watch it.
