Last night I saw Bowling for Soup at the Cedar Rapids Speedway. Tickets were $15 and Beer was $3, thus good times were had by all. Jesse and I showed up about a half hour early and pulled a King of the Hill. Yup…… Yup. We really need two more guys to pull off the full effect.
Punchline were the openers, and to be honest I’ve never seen an opening band do such a good job pumping up the crowd. Probably because most of the people there were well… not quite done with puberty, so its much easier to get them excited. It did suck cause looking around there were a ton of really cute girls, unfortunately very few of them had the 21+ wrist band, which made me feel sad 🙁 On the plus side taking off my wrist band magically changed my appearance from a 21 year to someone possibly still in High School.
Bowling for Soup put on a solid show. They had absolutely hilarious stage talk. Also they did a great set, only leaving out one song that I liked. The Highlight of the whole show was when he the lead singer pointed to look at the guy wearing the “Peanut Butter Jelly Shirt” in the back. Of course this was me! Cause I love peanut butter jelly time, and I bought that awesome shirt at Hot Topic. Their lead singer then made everyone pump their hands up and sing the Peanut Butter Jelly Time song. That shirt is now my favoritest shirt ever beating out the “What would MacGyver do?” shirt.
