So I finally moved in and have internet! Holy crap my apartment is functional. I’ve been working for about a week now, and even though I’d like to tell everyone about what its like I have to refrain. Damn that no work talk in my blog policy. Feel free to call though if you want to hear details. I can say anyone who is graduating next year who is looking for a job at Rockwell, let me know they have a great incentive program for people I know who fill job openings.
Other things… My apartment is sweet. I’m not sure if it’s a big apt or not since I’ve spent the last 3 years living in tiny ass rooms in a fraternity house. So it feels big to me. My view is fantastic, both of my windows overlook a golf course. I don’t play but I do like watching other people do there thing.
Moving in went ok. Schroeder was pretty much the back bone of my whole moving in operation, if he hadn’t been here I’d not gotten half as much done. Moving someplace new with no basic equipment is quite pricey. In the last week I’ve spent almost two thousand dollar on just stuff and services. A thousand of which was absolutely necessary otherwise I wouldn’t have things like light or you know silverware… I was half tempted to bust out “The Sims” and design my Sims apt to match my current one, but I decided that was way too toolish. I did buy a pretty sweet surround sound system, and managed to get it about a 30% discount. So all I need now is the 50inch plasma, and the blue-ray player. Fortunately, my desire to buy a new computer since my current one is a bit ancient is winning. Of course, I’m gunna go all hardcore like a good computer scientist should and build it from scratch. That’s all I really got. I may or may not post pictures of my new place, but first I have to clean it, I have more wires laying around than electronics and that just doesn’t look pretty.
