Last weekend was awesome. Not only did I get to see the bright cityscape of Minneapolis, but I got to see a Packers Vikings game, gambled at TI, and got to have lunch with someone who I haven’t hung out with in forever.
TI was great, I went with my folks for dinner there, and they decided they wanted to play some slots so I figured I should revisit my old past time of blackjack. At first I was hesitant normally I play at the $3 tables, but they were more packed than usual and I didn’t feel like waiting in line for an hour. So I moved my lazy ass over to a $5 table. I didn’t want to sit down, because I’m still in that state of mind of being a poor high school kid where $40 is a ton of money, but I just remembered what my soon to be salary was going to be and sat my ass down. After getting to meet some really cool people and a lots of black jack hands I had upped my bet to about $10 and had won almost $100. It was freaking cool, too bad it all went to pay for gas
The Vikes game the next day was even cooler. I scored some tickets from my uber cool uncle. Little did I realize how awesome they were till we got there. We sat right behind the uprights. My view looked straight down the field, and we were just high enough to not have our view obstructed by the horizontal bar. It was awesome! The game was even better. We were down 17 to nothing at the half, but the Vikings plowed on and with about 20 seconds left in the 4th it was all tied up 20-20. So The Vikings get the ball, run 2 plays, there is just 2 seconds left on the clock so they go for a 56 yard field goal and make it! The crowd erupted in a joyous triumph while all the packer’s fans put their heads down in shame.
Now I’m back at work counting down the days till I go back to TH for Halloween. Stay tuned for my costume, I’m not even sure what it’s going to be yet, but my good friend Brooke is taking care of all those details. I am so scared of what those possibilities maybe, but I know it’s going to be hilarious in the end. The trade off of shame for humor is usually worth it in my book.
