So far this summer two of my Brothers have dropped out of Rose. Their departure is a sad one; both were excellent members and contributed a lot to PIKE. They were both really fun guys to hang out with on a Friday night. Drunken wrestling will always be in my memory thanks to Tappy. Despite how much I got my ass kicked because he outweighed me by 60lbs. This upcoming year the house is going to feel deserted. This fall I think there maybe less than 50 total guys there, such a small number for such a large house. It’s true the living will be much cozier especially following our record breaking year of 66 (aprox) people. On the upside both of my little brothers will be living down the hall from me and I expect to become closer to both of them with my soon to be do nothing senior year ahead of me. Vince and I will both have jobs when we graduate so we already intend on the most slaptastic winter quarter possible. My only concern is doing just well enough to get in to the University of Iowa’s Grad school programs. Though the money is appealing I may even stop working at Ventures, I think my happiness level will become much higher if I have weekend Wednesday and never have to wake up early. Hell if you factor how much I’ll make Ventures winter and spring quarter it will probably be close to what I’ll make in one paycheck at Rockwell next year.
This past weekend was loads of fun, I went to Iowa State to hang out with Greg on his moving day. The Drive was unbelievably easy, straight and short, though about 50 miles of single lane hell. I got pretty crazy on Friday night, Gregs friend Tyler kept convincing me to take shots with him and honestly who turns down free shots? The house party was a bit low quality, not too many girls, no dancing, and the basement looked like a dungeon. I think this all added to the extra level of alcoholism for the night, bad party = drink more. I may or may not have gotten permanently banned from the party. Someone told me to take some hotdog buns from the kitchen of the house, and apparently one of the extremely drunk owners got pissed and said I couldn’t come back, which I promptly replied with a very uncaring response. This kid was wasted when I got there so I am assuming he won’t even remember the conversation. Either way I thought it was hilarious. Well that’s all I got for now, If anyone is curious I’ll be in TH over labor day weekend. I can’t wait!
